Koshland Arts and Culture Mini-Grants Program
The San Francisco Foundation’s Koshland Arts and Culture Mini-Grants Program supports free, community-based artistic and cultural activities that strengthen Koshland designated neighborhoods. Grants are made possible by the L. Wallace Cultural Participation Fund, which promotes the use of arts and culture by individuals and nonprofit organizations to build community and foster grassroots involvement by local residents. Mini-grants ranging from $500 to $3,000 are provided through a collaboration between the Foundation’s Arts and Culture Program and Koshland Civic Unity Awards Program.
Nonprofit organizations, as well as individuals or artists working with a fiscal sponsor, are eligible to apply if they support activities benefiting residents living in one or more of the four current Koshland designated neighborhoods: Ashland and Cherryland in San Leandro; City of San Pablo; Excelsior District in San Francisco; or North Fair Oaks in Redwood City.
Priority will be given to applicants based in one of the designated neighborhoods; however, having a physical address in one of the specified neighborhoods is not required. While applying organizations do not need to be arts or cultural organizations, awarded funds must support free arts or cultural activities.
The application deadline for 2013 grants passed on March 4, 2013.
