Our Open Application Cycle

We will open our next cycle in Fall 2012. Please review additional funding opportunities from the Arts and Culture program below.  If you would like to receive grantmaking updates from us via email, please complete this online form. If your organization received funding from us since July 2009, we already have your information and you do not need to fill out this form.

Additional Arts and Culture Grant Opportunities

Arts Loan Fund (ALF)
A collaborative program of the members of Northern California Grantmakers, ALF provides quick-turnaround, low-cost financial assistance to arts organizations located in Alameda, Contra Costa, Marin, Monterey, San Mateo, Sacramento, San Francisco, Santa Clara, Santa Cruz, and Sonoma counties, and individual artists located in the cities of Oakland and San Francisco. Creative Capacity Fund (CCF)
Administered by the Center for Cultural Innovation (CCI), CCF is a field-building initiative designed to support a broad range of training and peer learning opportunities for arts professionals. Under TSFF, current grantees of the Arts & Culture Program or individual artists living in Alameda, Contra Costa, Marin, San Francisco, or San Mateo counties are eligible to receive up to $1,000 for staff of arts organizations and $500 for individuals to subsidize the cost of professional development opportunities. Bay Area Documentary Fund (BADF)
The San Francisco Foundation Bay Area Documentary Fund (BADF) supports films exploring timely and compelling social justice issues that have been historically underexposed, misinterpreted, or ignored. In recognition of the many award-winning documentaries that have emerged from the Bay Area, the Foundation invites accomplished film, video, and digital media artists to apply. Awards ranging from $10,000 to $25,000 will be given to support the early production phase of documentary projects by experienced filmmakers with an esteemed body of previously created work. FAITHS Arts Mini-Grants
Faith-based organizations and congregations often serve as community hubs for cultural and artistic activity, especially in immigrant, refugee, and low-income communities. To enhance this exchange of art and ideas, The San Francisco Foundation’s FAITHS Program and Arts and Culture Program have provided FAITHS Arts and Culture Mini-Grants for the past four years. These mini-grants support faith-based organizations and groups in providing free, community-based artistic and cultural activities, with a priority focus on immigrant, refugee, and low-income communities. The FAITHS Arts Mini-Grants Program is made possible in part by the L. Wallace Cultural Participation Fund. Koshland Arts and Culture Mini-Grants
The San Francisco Foundation’s Koshland Arts and Culture Mini-Grants Program supports free, community-based artistic and cultural activities that strengthen local neighborhoods. Mini-grants ranging from $500 to $3,000 are provided through a collaboration between the Foundation’s Arts and Culture program and the Koshland Civic Unity Awards Program. The program promotes the use of arts and culture by local nonprofit organizations and individual residents to build community and foster grassroots involvement. Nonprofit organizations, as well as individuals or artists working with a fiscal sponsor, are eligible to apply if they sponsor activities that benefit communities living in one of the current Koshland neighborhoods. The Koshland Arts and Culture Mini-Grants Program is made possible in part by the L. Wallace Cultural Participation Fund.
