Vice President for Philanthropic Services Joins The San Francisco Foundation
(SAN FRANCISCO) – Tuesday, July 6, 2010 – James Head, Interim CEO and Vice President of Programs, and David Friedman, Chair of the Board of Trustees of The San Francisco Foundation (TSFF), announced the appointment of Elizabeth Brown as Vice President for Philanthropic Services.
As Vice President for Philanthropic Services, Elizabeth Brown will lead the Foundation’s philanthropic efforts to strengthen Bay Area donors’ giving and facilitating such opportunities with individuals, organizations, and the professional advisor community. During her 16 years in philanthropy, Ms. Brown’s has served as a philanthropic service officer, director of public policy, and a consultant at leading Bay Area institutions.
Mr. Head enthusiastically welcomes Ms. Brown and admires her focus on donors’ interests and needs. “Elizabeth brings to the Foundation a dedication to providing the best advice, service, and partnership to our donors. We are confident our donors will value her counsel when fulfilling their philanthropic vision,” said James.
Before joining The San Francisco Foundation, Elizabeth served as the vice president philanthropic services at the Marin Community Foundation, where she led philanthropic advisory services, development, and two of the strategic initiatives. Ms. Brown also served as vice president in the philanthropic division at Bank of America, where she advised the bank’s high net-worth clients on their charitable plans. She also launched the San Francisco office for the Philanthropic Management Group, where she established a client portfolio worth more than $130 million in less than two years. Ms. Brown received her Bachelor’s degree in Political Science with honors from Davidson College and her Master’s from Johns Hopkins University.
