Upcoming Grant Cycle By Invitation Only

We acknowledge that this is a challenging time for nonprofits and the people they serve.

For the upcoming grant cycle, The San Francisco Foundation will be awarding grants through an invitation-only process.

This means we will be contacting grantees and asking them to apply, rather than accepting unsolicited applications.

Current grantees will be given priority in this interim process.

We have contacted invited grantees, and applications are due on Monday, February 1, 2010.

This interim change in our grantmaking procedures is meant to efficiently and effectively put resources in the community, while we are completing a new strategic plan.

We will finish strategic planning in early 2010, and will begin implementation soon thereafter. As grantees and thought leaders, many of you have contributed your insights, opinions, and expertise during this process, and we are grateful to you. You have helped us map the extent of the impact of the economic downturn, and have shared with us your ideas about the most effective strategies for recovery.
