Support Recovery and Rebuilding After the Wildfires in Southern California

The disastrous wildfires in Southern California are devastating local communities, and it will take help from across the nation to rebuild the lives of the individuals and families effected by the fires. To support these fire relief efforts, we encourage you to donate to the San Diego Foundation's After-the-Fires Fund or the California Community Foundation's Southern California Wildfire Relief Fund.

The San Diego Foundation’s fund will support first-response efforts, with a primary focus on ongoing recovery and rebuilding throughout the San Diego region. Both community foundations have a history of providing much-needed support to their communities in crisis, granting millions of dollars in response to the 2003 wildfires. The California Community Foundation established the Southern California Wildfire Relief Fund to support intermediate recovery needs regionally with a particular focus on needy populations, those in need of affordable housing, and nonprofits serving the affected areas. The foundation will match the first $250,000 in contributions received to the fund and take no administrative fee from funds contributed.

Both community foundations’ funds will support emergency response, recovery, and rebuilding efforts in these fire-ravaged communities. Visit the San Diego Foundation's or the California Community Foundation's website to learn more and support these fire relief funds.
