Support Pakistan Flood Relief and Recovery

With the worst flooding in 80 years, Pakistan is facing a humanitarian crisis of the most severe proportions. The Pakistani government reports that more than 20 million people have been displaced as a result of the flooding, and the United Nations estimates that 1.2 million homes have been badly damaged. The death toll is climbing into the thousands and will continue to grow as access to food and clean water diminishes for many of the affected.

Please give generously to provide immediate relief and long term recovery. Our program staff experts vetted these three organizations that we recommend to you for support. They provide critical food, water, shelter, and medical care to the millions Pakistanis now in need.

Oxfam America
Oxfam is working closely with its partner agencies in Pakistan to support rescue efforts and prevent deadly outbreaks of disease in 13 of the most affected districts. Over the next three months, Oxfam staff and partner agencies will provide water, sanitation, and hygiene services to 400,000 people in these 13 districts and will help flood survivors rebuild their lives.

Save the Children
Save the Children has been working to assist children and families in Pakistan for 30 years. The organization is providing temporary housing and food to 85,000 families displaced by the flood through any means possible, including shipping health staff and supplies by helicopter, boats, and even on mules to ensure that children and families who have been cut off are able to receive the aid they desperately need.

Doctors Without Borders
Doctors Without Borders has been on the ground in Pakistan since 1988 and is dedicated to ensuring that those displaced by rising flood waters have access to clean, safe drinking water. Relief kits have already been distributed to more than 100,000 people, and Doctors Without Borders has provided 540,000 liters of clean drinking water per day. The organization also has 14 mobile health clinics operating in the country to provide relief and aid to those affected by the flooding.
