Roundtable with Disaster Response Agencies in Alameda County
Join us on Thursday, June 17th, for this invitation-only discussion with representatives from disaster response agencies in Alameda County to learn:
- what role these agencies play in a disaster;
- how they interface with nonprofits and other partners; and
- what types of support and information nonprofits can expect from these agencies during a disaster.
This session will be an opportunity for nonprofits participating in The San Francisco Foundation’s disaster preparedness technical assistance program to speak directly with city- and county-level emergency managers and representatives from the American Red Cross Bay Area, Collaborating Agencies Responding to Disaster (CARD), and Eden I & R – all of whom have important and distinct roles in a disaster.
Disaster response agency participants:
- Lt. Greg Morgado, Senior Emergency Services Coordinator, Alameda County Sheriff’s Office at the Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Services
- Renee Domingo, Director of Emergency Services and Homeland Security, City of Oakland
- Charles Telehala, Disaster Manager for Alameda County, American Red Cross Bay Area
- Âna-Marie Jones, Executive Director, Collaborating Agencies Responding to Disaster
- Representative from Eden I & R
Please come prepared to have one person from your organization give a very brief, two-minute description of your mission and anticipated activities in a disaster.
