Census 2010 Grantee Resource and Training Session
The San Francisco Foundation's Census 2010 grant program aims to strengthen local nonprofits in their campaigns to bring visibility to hard-to-count populations. The Foundation’s goal is not solely to grant to organizations doing census work but also to encourage those organizations to work with the Census Bureau, to access their resources, and to network and coordinate efforts with each other in order to work more effectively and efficiently. As part of the grants program, awarded organizations will receive non-grant assistance, including attending grantee meetings where strategies and models will be shared and connections to resources and organizations facilitated.
The next session for Census grantees is a 2010 US Census Bay Area Resource and Training Session, held in partnership with the Bay Area 2010 Census Funders Collaborative. The session's purposes are to:
- provide an overview of the US Census Bureau’s Bay Area Outreach Strategy;
- provide materials and other informational resources that will assist in outreach efforts to support a complete count of your community during the 2010 US Census; and
- build awareness and support networking between the Bay Area community-based organizations receiving grants from organizations partnering with the Bay Area 2010 Census Funders Collaborative.
