Annual Legacy Society Luncheon
Please join us on Monday, May 9th for our annual Legacy Society Luncheon to celebrate our legacy donors whose vision and generosity truly transforms the lives of so many in the Bay Area.
This luncheon is a special opportunity to engage with fellow civic-minded philanthropists and hear from innovative nonprofit leaders whose impact is made possible by estate gifts to The San Francisco Foundation. This year we are honored to feature the inspiring work of Nadine J. Burke, M.D., medical director of Bayview Child Health Center, and Donald S. Falk, executive director of Tenderloin Neighborhood Development Corporation. Diana Gameros, a local Latin-inspired musician, will also perform.

About the Speakers
Nadine J. Burke, MD, MPH, FAAP, AE-C, is the founding physician and medical director of the Bayview Child Health Center, a community-based satellite clinic of California Pacific Medical Center. Dr. Burke oversees the operations of the clinic and provides care to children and youth living in the Bayview Hunters Point Community of San Francisco. Dr. Burke's areas of interest are in health disparities, child trauma, asthma, and nutrition. Particularly, her focus is to serve communities where issues of poverty and race present challenges to conventional healthcare and education. Her vision is to improve health outcomes through innovative approaches that integrate medical, social, and mental health services. She was appointed to the Citizen's Committee for Community Development by San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom in 2005, and served as Vice Chair from 2007-2009. She was recently featured in the film Nourish, along with prominent food activists Michael Pollan and Alice Waters, discussing the importance of food and community. Dr. Burke received her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of California, Berkeley, her medical degree from the University of California, Davis School of Medicine, and her Masters of Public Health degree from Harvard School of Public Health.
Donald S. Falk began his tenure as executive director of Tenderloin Neighborhood Development Center (TNDC) in October 2005. As TNDC's director of housing development for the prior 11 years, he played a principal role in guiding the organization through a period of profound growth as its portfolio of properties increased from nine to 23 buildings. Prior to TNDC, Mr. Falk worked for ten years at Jubilee West, a nonprofit housing organization based in West Oakland, where he served as director of housing development, deputy director, and co-executive director. He was appointed to the national Network Advisory Board of Enterprise Community Partners, a network of executive directors who share best practices in developing and operating affordable housing. On the regional and city level, he participates as a member of San Francisco Planning and Urban Research Association Housing Policy Task Force and CCHO’s Transition Committee. He is the past president of the Nonprofit Housing Association of Northern California, on whose board he served for seven years. Mr. Falk earned a Masters in Public Policy from the University of California, Berkeley, and a BA with honors in Economics and Urban Studies from Oberlin College.
Diana Gameros is an indie, world, Latin, and folk singer/songwriter from Juárez, México, now living in San Francisco. Diana's music ranges from traditional Mexican styles of playing to Latin pop/bossa nova rhythms. Music and cultures from around the world have inspired Diana to sing in different languages, including Spanish, English, and French. Diana's striking vocal ability, gentle and expansive sound of the guitar, and deepness of her lyrics makes her one of the most versatile performers in the Bay Area. Accompanying her will be Kenan O'Brien on up-right bass and Paul Bertin on saxophone.
